After a slightly longer-than-desirable discharge process, Lily left the hospital yesterday afternoon. Mommy, Daddy and Lily went home the same way they arrived on Friday- walking. It is debatable whether those 10 blocks felt longer when I was in active labor or with the soreness of a post-partum body, but it was sunny and warm an it was a perfect spring day to introduce our little Lily to her world!
Wait, you walked to the hospital while in labor?!? Holy crap I now fear and respect you. Even more. Or something. We are closer than 10 blocks to Northwestern Memorial and were I to be in that situation there would be a cab or a freaking ambulance.
