The Marauding Band of Pirates

It's not blurry from the darkness, it's from the sugar.

Also, less "marauding" and more "Penzance."

Jacob says "I do not like it!"

An unexpected snow storm blew in on the boys while they were fetching bagels this morning. Jacob likes it better from inside, I think.

Worn out

Nana and Papa are in town and today we headed out to Long Island for some apples, corn mazes, and wineries. The drive was fun, but Jacob, Lily, and Papa were plumb worn out by the end of it.

Lily on the move

She spends most of her days trying to get up on her knees and rolling from toy to toy. We are going to be in TROUBLE once this girl is mobile, and by all signs we don't have too much more time.

Lily The Destroyer

That toy never stood a chance.

First bath together

To celebrate Lily turning 6 months old today, we got her a bath seat so that the kids could bathe together and we could effectively scrub all the pureed avocado off of her. The baby bath jut wasn't cutting it anymore!

Some cute from the weekend.

Lily loves her solids!

She loves the food! Bananas and rice cereal are a little hard on her system, but apples, squash, and oatmeal are just wonderful! Avocados and pears are coming next, and next week we'll start adding protein like yogurt, tofu, and maybe some oils. Jacob loves encouraging her to eat and bragging about the fact that they are both "good eaters," and he has also taken to demanding porridge at every meal in solidarity.

How many Josts fit in one shower?

Apple Picking

We had SO much fun apple-picking in New Jersey last week. It was beautiful and felt so good to get out of the city for the morning. Jacob loved the apples, and now we've roasted and blended buckets and buckets of applesauce for Lily to try when she starts eating solids!

Lily's first solids

Not color-blind!

Jacob had a 50% chance of being color-blind, but his amazing matching skills seem to have put that issue to rest. He did these all on his own!

The Bronx Zoo with Grandma and Grandpa

One of the special things we got to do when Grandma and Grandpa were in town.
