First Steps

Jacob took his first steps on his birthday! I don't know if they are as much steps as using his feet to catch himself as he lunges forward, but, hey, that is the learning process! He was so EXCITED when he figured out what he was doing. The giggles made the actual steps much more difficult, but way more cute!

May 17th

It is so hard to believe that a year has gone by since this little person came into our lives. He brings such joy and excitement and love into every day, and I can't wait to see what the next year will bring! Happy Birthday, Jacob. We love you so very very very much.

Jacob's First Birthday

Not just a party, not just a day, but a whole weekend of fun and excitement! We've tried to capture it for all of our loved ones who are far away.

The party:
We had a bbq in the backyard with playgroup friends and grownup friends and family. It was WONDERFUL. Jacob is so lucky to have so many fun and loving people in his life!

Balloons left over from the party:

Jacob is finally old enough to drink WHOLE MILK!!!!!!!!
Today, which was Jacob's actual birthday, Daddy and Mommy took him up to the Bronx Zoo for the day. He started off a little cranky because of some sore gums, but after a quick snooze on the way up, he was ready to rock the whole Zoo. The biggest hits were the monkeys and the fish, but a close encounter with a peacock was very memorable as well. And, of COURSE, the camel ride. What one-year-old doesn't need a camel ride!?!?! Inevitably, at the end of the day, the little adventurer barely made it out of the park before falling asleep.

The day wasn't over yet, so we had some swings:

Some dinner:

And some presents:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB!

The Tooth, Revealed!

Finally snapped a quality shot of the first tooth. There's a second one right next to it, but it is more felt than seen. And the top row are all about to break through as well, so it's a fun week.

Also visible in this picture: the disaster created by a banana-puff bar. I had to hold him over the sink and shake him off to remove all the bits...
