Summer is here
Yesterday it was hot and sticky and with the temp close to 90 it felt like July. We headed out to the park just because we couldn't bear being cooped up. Fortunately it cooled down today, but we got a taste of what is in store.

Nap-Tent
Jacob has mostly dropped his nap, but he still needs a long rest in the afternoon. He's been having a hard time resting and usually spends the time being naughty. We decided that there were just too many distractions in mommy's room and he needed a special hideaway that could be his happy-place for resting, thus...the Nap-Tent! It's only been two days, but so far he's been able to rest and relax and have the quiet time he (and mommy) needs, without being temped to run wild in the bedroom. So proud of my big boy! Here's hoping he can keep it up...
Coney Island Aquarium
Lily was too sick with a fever this weekend to do anything fun, but Jacob enjoyed the heck out of a trip to the beach and aquarium with grandma and grandpa!

Birthday umbrella
Jacob asked for an umbrella for his birthday three separate times once he realized that they made them for kids, so when it was raining yesterday we went and picked one out. He is obsessed! It wasn't raining today, but of course he still brought it to music class.

"napping"
Jacob has recently stopped napping more than a few times a week. He still really needs his quiet time, though, or else the evenings are really rough. So we've taken the basinette out of our room and moved lily into the nursery for both naps so that JTJ can do his quiet time in mommy's room. No napping thus far, but he is doing better everyday at finding his own way to relax.
Pretty soon he'll be getting a big boy bed in his room too!

Dory!!!
This is Lily's new move- she points and yells "Dory!" everytime she sees books. And woe upon those who would deny my tenacious little reader her story.
